Background:
Born on Corellia to a proud
naval family, whose history in the Old Republic navy stretched back hundreds of
years, Subav always believed he had a bright future ahead of him. His father, an
Old Republic Naval Captain who worked in the outer rim in anti-pirate
operations, often took him aboard his ship to show him what service was like and
so that young Subav would know many things that the academy taught by the time
he was old enough to attend. Subav's mother was one of many of the Galaxy's
lonely wives of military men, sitting alone at home while their husbands do
their duty. She was nothing special, about as ordinary as a person can get. As
Subav grew older, he spent more and more time on his father's ship, until he
stayed on for entire sorties at a time.
Because of the ship's constant action against pirates, Subav was exposed to
death while many teens are still attending school. On many occasions, he was
forced to help damage control or medical teams during particularly brutal
battles. By the time Subav was sixteen, he was as experienced as any Ensign on
the ship, and eager to reach the age at which he could enter the academy. He
spent every moment possible on the bridge with his father, eagerly learning the
"tools of the trade." One day, however, everything would change...
His father's ship, an old
Dreadnaught named Vornskyr's Thorn, exited hyperspace in a small out of the way
system where pirate activity had been recently reported. All was normal, until a
trio of large cruisers exited hyperspace behind the ship and engaged it. The
reports had been part of a plot to destroy the Vornskyr's Thorn, which had been
a thorn in the sides of the pirates of the region for many years. Without even
being able to raise the ship's shields, turbolasers blasted through the armored
hull in many places, with one barrage piercing the transparisteel of the bridge.
The bridge quickly depressurized, and was blocked off by the ship's emergency
systems so that no more oxygen would be sucked out of the ship. Unfortunately,
this meant that everyone on the bridge, including Subav's father, would be
killed. Subav himself, who had been wandering around in the ship's engineering
section, learned only of his father's death from the damage control crew's yells
as they rushed towards the destroyed bridge. The pirate cruisers continued to
pound the old Dreadnaught, and with nobody in command, the Dreadnaught was
unable to return fire with any regularity. Soon, the Dreadnaught began to break
apart, and the surviving crew, including Subav, were forced to evacuate in life
pods. Luckily, the pirates only chose to destroy a small number of the life
pods, and left the area. After some time, a rescue ship arrived...
When Subav turned 17, he
quickly snatched up the chance to enter the Republic Naval Academy. He graduated
fourth in his class. He slowly but surely climbed up the chain of command,
retaining his commission as the Old Republic became the Empire. He saw the
Empire as a source of renewed order and law in the galaxy, and welcomed it. In
his eyes, with the powerful Empire protecting the citizens of the galaxy, nobody
would have to endure the same fate he did. After some time, he became the XO of
a ship with a similar mission to his father's ship, hunting down pirates in the
outer rim. One day, his "second father" suffered a similar fate to his
real father...the second Death Star was destroyed, and the Emperor killed. His
ship, in the far flung regions of space, was unable to do anything to help the
situation, and it's captain was unsure of what to do in these trying times for
the Empire and it's loyalists. The captain, whose name was Karr Ciann was not
one of those loyalists, it would seem, he had just held a grudge against
pirates. Captain Ciann opted to make an attempt to defect to the Alliance.
Unfortunately for Subav and the other Imperial Loyalists onboard, the majority
of the crew agreed with Captain Ciann. Subav and the others "stole" a
shuttle and made their way to a planet, which was still in control of a Moff.
Soon there afterward, a man approached him looking for Subav to join his
crew...the man's name? Trigit. Admiral Trigit. Subav became just another member
of the bridge crew on the Implacable, Trigit's personal Imperial Star
Destroyer. For a while the Trigit and the Implacable worked for Ysanne Isard,
and the ship narrowly escaped destruction as the New Republic conquered Imperial
Center.
Admiral Trigit then went off to
work for himself, as Isard was killed in the battle for Thyferra. An up and
coming Warlord with a Super Star Destroyer under his command then contacted
Trigit and the Implacable received a new mission...the destruction of Falor base
and Rogue squadron. The destruction of Falor base was a success, for the most
part, but because of a trick by the members of the newly created Wrath Squadron,
the base was evacuated before its destruction. Admiral Trigit was once again
tricked by Wrath squadron, when on a mission to destroy the survivors of Falor
base, Wrath squadron, whom had been masquerading as an Imperial corvette which
they had captured on a fluke, opened fire on the Implacable. The battle was
short and furious, a small number of Wraths and Rogues were killed, but
ultimately the Implacable was doomed. Admiral Trigit, in his tretury, ordered
the ship to self-destruct with the crew on board. A member of the crew announced
his intentions to the rest of the crew, and Subav and many others escaped from
the ship in it's many escape pods, watched as it crashed into the moon's
surface.
The New Republic took Subav and
the other Implacable survivors into custody. After serving a fair amount of time
in POW camps, New Republic Fleet Command, which was in desperate need of able
crewmen as Grand Admiral Thrawn swept across the galaxy, came to him with an
offer. Serve in the New Republic Navy, and go free. He agreed...but he was still
an Imperial at heart. One day, he departed from his ship for leave...and never
went back.
He made his way to the Imperial remnant, and re-joined the Imperial Navy. The navy distrusted him because of his service in NR Fleet Command, but because there was a shortage of able commanders, they accepted him back. He quickly rose through the ranks from Commander to Captain, and took command of his own ship.
