Captain Gabriel Havara
Player: Jason Howard
Homeworld: Coruscant
Species: Human
Sex: Male
Age: 29
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 75 kg
Hair: Blonde/Brown, short and curly.
Eyes: Sky Blue
Physical description: Medium
build and standing at 5’10”, Gabriel is 29 years old and looks like he
atleast tries to keep fit but does not seem to be strong. What he lacks in
strength comes in his slightly gain in agility, tactics and command. His hair is
curly, unlike most who’s is straight, and is cut to a shorter length to keep
to standard protocols. His face is cleanly shaven with no signs of a gotee or
sideburns. His face seems unscarred except slight lines have appeared under his
eyes from late nights.
Personality: Gabriel
had his grandfather as an Idol and hence took up some of his personality, which
was a fighter pilot’s intellect and tactics. Taking tactics from his
grandfather and building upon it in the Academy, he became not only a tactician
with an Interdictor and their gravity wells, but as well with Starfighters as
they were the ‘arms of any ship to reach out and grip the life from thine
enemy when one’s legs are not long enough. He also has a strong voice and will
to fight the enemy yet still has hidden remorse to his lost Capital Ship
recently. Although short lived, he moved on from it knowing the only cure for
this fire was to add more wood to it.
Quote: “Starfighters are the arms of any ship to reach out and grip the life from thine enemy when one’s legs are not long enough.”
Objectives: To defeat the Empire’s enemies and to stomp out all insignificant threats with well planned tactics and command abilities.
Equipment: Imperial uniform, Blaster Pistol (4D), Rank Code Cylinder.
Background:
Gabriel
was born on Coruscant just before the Empire was formed and the Old Republic
still held in place solidly. His father, Mark, lived a solitary life as a shop
owner on Coruscant where he made clothing for those who had the money to pay for
it; this was what Gabriel had been brought into and at a young age found it
tiring yet knew that credits made the world go round.
There were
times though that Gabriel got time to stay with his Grandfather, Kael, since he
was born up until the age of seventeen. Kael was a Squadron Leader for the 218th
“Vulture” Fast Attack Squadron for the Old Republic Starfighter Corps.
Kael,
unlike his quieter son, was a great story teller giving Gabriel experiences of
battles he would never forget and some he never had forgotten. Among the stories
his grandfather had told him even before Gabriel was able to speak himself but
could understand and take the information in piece by piece, he learnt of
methods used by Kael through his eventual thirty-six year Tour of Duty.
As the
years rolled by, Gabriel began taking the attitude of his grandfather rather
than his business like father with his shop. The stories continued and Gabriel
began to understand that they were spiced up but what was said within them
seemed logical enough for the moves to work; he never forgot them as he found
himself walking into the Imperial Naval Academy after already gone through a
fleet camp as well as a sector naval academy.
Eighteen
years old, he stepped into the original academy, and a video message to his
grandfather happened for exactly 53 seconds. Kael had been very proud of his
grandson but his time has come as the grandson’s idol passed away in his sleep
that night.
Gabriel
mourned for a single day where he almost left the Academy to head back home but
stopped himself; instead he did what he knew his grandfather wanted, why he had
been so proud in the first place.
If Gabriel
had had any personal life before this Academy, all remnants of it had now
disappeared as Gabriel spent all his spare time in the simulators practicing
tactics in various vessels they talked of within classes like the Strike
Cruisers, Interdictor Cruisers and the Imperial Star Destroyers.
While in
the Academy he gained little to no friends, but gained respect from those around
him from his use of tactics or atleast his obscure methods from time to time
until the students found themselves on the podium at graduation.
Lieutenant
Havara found himself aboard the Escort Carrier “Tangible” only months before
the Battle of Endor began and ended. On the Instigator he was placed as their
helmsmen and as he was assigned there he was able to get a close-up view of what
good tactics and Starfighter placement could effectively do in a battle.
Two years
later after the Battle of Endor, Gabriel was reassigned to the Interdictor
Cruiser I “Instigator” where again he found himself as their Helmsmen yet
due to his thoughts given from time to time, Gabriel one day found himself
watching the Helmsmen as he was made the First Officer and promoted to
Commander.
--
“Medical
emergency; medical team to bridge!” Gabriel yelled through the ship
communications and as he looked at the other officers on the bridge then back
down to the now unconscious Captain who was bleeding from the side of his head,
the ship too again a second ship-moving hit.
“Helm,
turn about to port 33.5 degrees-“ He commanded, his eyes moving from the
viewscreen to the Captain and back until the medical team rushed in and took the
Captain off. Sitting down into the Captain’s chair, Gabriel assessed his
situation. Tapping into the console in the edge of the chair, he checked
sensors, and displays as the ship took another hit.
“Shields
at 43%, Sir.” An officer said and Gabriel nodded. “Understood.”
“Maneuver
complete, Sir.” Helm injected into the conversation.
Only a nod
this time from the Commander. “Time until the Intolerable and the Dementia
arrive.”
“5
minutes and 35 seconds, Sir.” Both ships were Imperial Star Destroyers,
something they needed to boost their current situation of an Escort Carrier, an
Interdictor and some fighters. The smaller ships had been used to draw them in,
until the Star Destroyers jumped in.
Gabriel
would quicken that to their advantage.
“Throw
me a gravity well in 5 minutes…” He tapped his console as if calculating.
“…9 SU’s from the MC80 and 10 SU’s from the Assault Frigate… “ 20
seconds before the Star Destroyers would normally appear but they would now
appear in the middle of the battle to stir up the ants.
“Open a
channel to the Tangible,” His old Escort Carrier, still alive. “its time to
play.”
“Channel
open.”
“James-“
Gabriel said on a first name term, the Captain now was the past First
Officer.”-we have three and a half minutes to get prepared. I’m transmitting
co-ordinates now for where I am placing the gravity wells. It will…”
“…bring
the Star Destroyers straight into battle. You want to risk your life to see that
work?” The Captain asked.
“I
already know its going to work. Instigator out.”
Three and
a half minutes came, and what happened was exactly what Gabriel said where the
ISD”s jumped in and began opening fire, adapting to the situation they were
‘pulled’ into and destroyed the frigate and captured the MC80.
“A
simple move.”
“A smart
move to turn the tide so that the ISD’s wouldn’t be milling about until we
set ourselves instead you did it in your spare time. It’s a pity
communications never work otherwise we could have spiced it up.” The
Dementia’s Captain said, with a grin, to Gabriel as they walked into the
medical bay of the Instigator to find a wounded Captain getting up to leave the
area.
“I heard
my First Officer did a fine job out there. Keep it up kid.” Gabriel grinned at
the Interdictor Captain’s comment, knowing he was a ‘kid’ in this field at
the age of 24 years.
--
That day was nothing out of the ordinary for the Instigator, whom always seem to
find the right place to stir up trouble and still come out on top. Time moved
on, and he stayed on the same ship and in time became her Captain when the
previous Captain was promoted up the ranks.
On his 29th
birthday, he entered a battle headstrong as they faced this time a lone MC100a,
a larger variant of the MC80 Star Cruiser as they had their lone Interdictor
waiting with another Imperial Star Destroyer Mk II the Indomitable..
History
was repeating itself, as Gabriel placed the well where he wanted it to be to
pull the other ships from hyperspace and into the battlefield.
What
happened he couldn’t fix.
In jumped
the three Star Destroyers as well as 2 Escort Carriers and a Dreamnaught and the
seconds passed by as their bows moved towards the enemy just when…
3 MC80s, 2
Nebulon B Frigates and 2 Assault Frigates jumped in as well due to their gravity
well.
“Used
against us.” Gabriel whispered to himself. “Helm, about to port 80 degrees
and launch all fighters we have and send them on an assault run against those
escort carriers but mind the Neb-B.”
They had
to work fast and yet time still was against them. Five hours later he found
himself in the Indomitable’s medical bay with an injured arm. An officer came
into the medical bay and handed him a datapad then disappeared again.
He read
it. “100 survivors. Only 100 survivors.” He said to himself and cursed his
failure. He now knew he had to scale his tactics up even more to backfire the
enemy even more. As Gabriel lay upon the bed he rubbed his chin, his mind
formulating again as he always found himself doing.
Now back
on Carida, he awaited his reassignment into the field and to work out what his
ship would turn out to be after being on the Interdictor the last seven years
and captaining her for four years.
